Further Seems Forever have their roots firmly in rock, but the band members have let in other influences to create a sound uniquely their own. The band was birthed in the late 1990s in Pompano Beach, Florida. The original lineup was Chris Carrabba on vocals, Josh Colbert on guitar, Nick Dominguez on guitar, Chad Neptune on bass and Steve Kleisath. The band members came from three other groups, Strongarm, Shai Hulud and Vacant Andys. The band was finding their sound by playing together and they subsequently put out an LP called Recess Theory in 1999. They soon found themselves with a record contract through Tooth & Nail Records and released their first album in 2001 titled Moon Is Down. After the release, Carrabba left to join Dashboard Confessional and was replaced by Jason Gleason from Affinity. Dominguez also left before the next studio album and Derick Cordoba took his place.Further Seems Forever released How to Start a Fire in 2003. Gleason also left after that and was replaced by Jon Bunch from Sense Field before the band released Hide Nothing in 2004. They were also performing hit tours like their 2004 tour with Sparta and Copeland. They released Hope This Finds You Well in 2006 and announced they were dissolving. They performed a farewell tour and released The Final Curtain in 2007.Further Seems Forever boasted incredible talent during their time together as a band. Dashboard Confessional, Carrabba's effort, has reached stardom of its own and shows the magic that brought this band together. Their sound can be heard in a lot of Christian rock today as other artists have taken pieces of Further Seems Forever's sound and meshed it with their own. While they are no longer releasing albums, their impact is undeniable.
