Haste the Day, which is named for a lyric in the hymn, "It is Well With My Soul" is a prominent Christian metalcore band originating from Indianapolis, Indiana. Their sound is most definitely rough around the edges, prompting fans to exert high-energy head banging when privy to their songs. At one of Haste the Day's concerts, or even in the relative privacy of one's own car, kids can be seen thrashing to the heavy metal beats performed by this well known group.Haste the Day was formed in 2001 and has since been recording and touring cities around the world, delivering the very best in the Christian metalcore genre. Their first release was That They May Know You in 2002, and it met with little success. Undeterred, the band singed with Solid State Records and went on to start work on their subsequent full length album, Burning Bridges, which, thanks to songs like "American Love" and "One Life to Live," helped to establish the group on the charts and paved the way for future successes in the Christian metalcore genre. In June 2005, they released When Everything Falls, which included "Fallen," "When Everything Falls" and a cover of The Goo Goo Dolls song, "Long Way Down."Even when founding member Jimmy Ryan announced that he was leaving the band, the members gathered together to make sure that the sound of Haste the Day would continue to live on. In 2007 they released Pressure the Hinges and are currently working on another album that is due out later in 2008. Haste the Day has devoted a considerable amount of time to touring and has joined other well known groups such as Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Gwen Stacy and Drop Dead, Gorgeous.
