Embracing a combination of grunge, nu-metal, rock and emo music, the fresh new rock band Hurt has only recently emerged on the music scene, yet the group’s innate ability to play a variety of music styles has led the rockers into almost instantaneous success. The group has achieved in two years what most musicians spend a lifetime striving for-record deals, chart toppers and cult-like followers. From hit producing songs like "Rapture” to gaining an ever-growing fan base, Hurt is showing the world one album at a time that the band’s exclusive alternative metal rock music is most definitely something to write home about. The members of Hurt came to the band after serving very different childhoods, from the sheltered lead singer/violinist/guitarist/arranger J. Loren Wince to drummer Evan Johns, the son of a famous rock producer, all the way to bassist Josh Ansley and guitarist Paul Spatola, all of whom led very different lives until their passion for music drew them together. Johns’ producer father established the group when he heard Loren on a demo tape, and Spatola and Ansley quickly joined the group, as well. Hurt eventually got signed with Capitol Records, and in 2006 the band released its debut album, entitled Vol. I. The album landed at a surprising number seven on the Top Heatseekers chart, and the hit song “Rapture” fared just as well on the mainstream rock charts. To keep the ball rolling, Hurt released its sophomore album Vol. II in 2007, appropriately picking up right where Vol. I left off. The 2007 release debuted on the Billboard 200, and the album’s hit single “Ten Ton Brick” even landed as the number six Hot Mainstream Rock Track later that year. Switching from Capitol to Adrenaline Records, Hurt released its third album The Re-Consumation in 2008.
