Better known as one of the five heart throbs rounding out *NSYNC, JC Chasez has nevertheless gone on to found a fairly successful solo pop career, strutting and singing his way into the hearts of new fans. Those who have discovered his unique blend of pop, including everything from club-ready dance jams to melancholy break-up tunes, have cleared room in their music collections for his continually growing discography.Chasez's fluttering voice first attracted attention as a young man, when he joined the Mousekateers--a group that would cultivate the talents of more than its fair share of pop stars, most of whom came to blossom in the mid- to late-'90s. Chasez met Justin Timberlake while there, forming a friendship that would eventually lead to larger success. Timberlake recommended Chasez to fellow-Syncher Chris Kirkpatrick, who wanted to form a group. Together, they earned the attention of now infamous boy band creator Denniz Pop, who helped the budding band's career follow the trajectory of the Backstreet Boys'.Chris, Justin, JC, Lance and Joey--by these powers combined, the quintet pumped out pure platinum. By the time the '90s and the boy band craze was over, they turned their sights elsewhere--Justin and JC toward solo careers, Lance toward the heavens (sadly, his attempt to gain a seat on a Russian space vessel never came to fruition).Chasez issued a single solo release, Schizophrenic, in 2004. The album's title was a little too spot-on, as critics said the record was uneven, with Chasez attempting too many disparate styles on one album. But there were a number of hits to come off of it, and it firmly established Chasez as a talented artist on his own. He's released numerous EPs since his debut, and fans await a follow-up.
