The English band Jesus Jones gives its fans a mix of dance, hip-hop and rock and churns out a sound that everyone has questioned since the very beginning. On top of their sound, they have the personas to match. The out-there band caught the attention of everyone who saw them and they produced amazing albums in the process. It all started in the late 1980s. The band had released their own demo of the song "Info Freako," and those around the music business were beginning to take notice. The band consisted of Simon "Gen" Matthews on drums, Iain "Barry D" Baker on keyboard, Jerry de Abela Borg on guitar, Alan Doughty on bass and Mike Edwards on guitar and vocals. Matthews would later get replaced by Tony Arthy on drums. They recorded and released another single before releasing their debut album, Liquidizer, in 1989 under SBK's label. The album started gaining fans for the young band, and they followed it up with Doubt in 1990, which did better. Doubt charted at number 25 on the Billboard 200 charts.Although their next release in 1993, Perverse, wasn't quite as successful as the last album by coming in at number 59 on the Billboard 200 charts, it is the band's personal favorite. Fans loved the sound as well and it became any true fan's favorite as well. The next few years brought personal and professional hardships for the band, and they didn't release their next album, Already, until 1997.The band's innovation continued into the new millennium. London was released in 2001, and a greatest hits album followed in 2002. Fans still enjoy their unique brand of rock and thoughtful lyrics. They seem to have a special attribute that keeps their music sounding fresh even years later.
