"Joshua Radin was born and raised near Cleveland, Ohio. As a young man Joshua Radin was interested in all things artsy, but especially drawing, acting and writing. He played the guitar a little, but it wasn't his main interest. In fact, if you were to have asked Radin just a few years ago if he ever saw himself making a living with his art, he certainly would not have pictured himself paying the bills by strumming. Radin attended Northwestern University, where he met like-minded actor and writer Zach Braff. Although the two went their separate ways for a while as Braff's acting career took off with the success of Garden State and Scrubs, the fact that they were college buddies would be of the utmost importance in getting Radin's music career going. While living in New York and struggling to make ends meet as a painter and screenwriter, Radin was asked to host an open mic night. In preparation for the gig he wrote the song ""Winter,"" which he sang to a surprisingly captivated audience while hosting the show. When Zach Braff heard the tune, he insisted that it be featured on his TV series, Scrubs, which often incorporated musical interludes, montages and cameos in its episodes. When ""Winter"" aired it was welcomed by an overwhelmingly positive reception from indie rock and folk music lovers. Demand for Joshua Radin was spiking, so he decided to strike while the iron was hot. Radin worked on an album, signed with Capitol Records and issued We Were Here in the summer of 2006.Having his music showcased on other popular television shows like Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill and American Idol only added to the Joshua Radin craze. Radin's sound, which he calls ""caberemo"" (a combination of cabaret and emo), works like a charm on sensitive guys and the girls who love to coddle them."
