After a two-year stint at the University of South Carolina, Roberts transferred to Nashville's Belmont University to pursue a career in music. After performing in local clubs and restaurants, Roberts landed a job as the assistant to Universal Music Group Nashville's Co-Chairman, Luke Lewis.
