"The highly successful Christian-oriented dance troupe Jump5 took the CCM world by storm when they debuted in the late '90s, scoring numerous clean, family-friendly hits that teens and their kid brothers or sisters could listen and sing along to. With much of the pop world becoming increasingly more sexual (or violent, with the rise of rap-rock), it was a stressful time to be worrying about what your children are listening to. Thankfully, bands like Jump5 provided an alternative for Christian youth.Forming in 1999 in Nashville, TN, the group was comprised, naturally, of five members. Siblings Brittany and Brandon Hargest had taken the same dance classes as future member Lesley Moore when all were much younger. They became friends, and eventually decided they'd like to work professionally together as well. Soon enough, Libby Hodges and Chris Fedun had signed on, and the quintet developed complex dance routines that would wow their fans. They had beat-driven, catchy pop that would impress many fans of their first record, 2001's self-titled debut. Many of their songs betrayed the group's proud Christian influence, though it wasn't so overwhelming that it played to a single niche. Many teens looking for fun pop music found them perfect, and songs like ""Spinnin' Around"" became quite popular. After their debut was released, the group played numerous smaller venues around the country, eventually landing an impressive gig at the White House. With the single (released as a benefit) ""God Bless the USA"" becoming much listened to after 9/11, the band began to see large crowds showing up to their shows. Releasing numerous more albums, including several with remixes of their songs that made dancing to them a whole lot more fun, the band finally called it quits in 2007, issuing their last record, Hello & Goodbye."
