Los Lonely Boys Biography
If Los Lonely Boys were called by their surnames, they would be Los Garza Boys, as the musical trio is a band of brothers creating joyful noise together. Henry Garza (guitar), Jojo Garza (bass) and Ringo Garza, Jr. (drums) are three brothers in their twenties looking to match the success of their famous musician father, Falcones bandmate and solo artist Ringo Garza, Sr., and so far the Tex-Mex trio has been successful in their aspiration.Los Lonely Boys originated from the Garza family in San Angelo, Texas, but before they were the musical trio that exploded on scene with Heaven, they were a backup band for their father. Ringo Garza, Sr. went solo after his successful conjunto band the Falcones disbanded in the ‘80s, taking his three sons with him as his supporting musicians before they were even teenagers. The Garzas moved to Nashville in the boys' youths, but by 2000 Henry, Jojo and Ringo Jr. had formed their own band together apart from Ringo Sr. and moved back to Texas. In 2003, the group that named themselves Los Lonely Boys debuted their very first album together, the eponymously titled Los Lonely Boys, and immediately garnered success. The album, recorded at Willie Nelson's Pedernales recording studio in Austin, Texas, was issued by Or Music and included the show-stopping song Heaven, which flung Los Lonely Boys into the spotlight by landing at the number one slot on the Adult Contemporary chart in 2004. Los Lonely Boys also reached number one on the Top Heatseekers chart once Epic Records got their hands on the release, and the album eventually earned Los Lonely Boys a Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. Riding on the immense success of their debut album, Los Lonely Boys followed up their self-titled debut with the sophomore album Sacred in 2006, followed by the successful Forgiven in 2008.
