"Luis Fonsi brings a whole new dramatic flair to the Latin pop music industry with his sweet-natured songs and amiable personality. Fonsi is not considered one of the mold in the Latin music industry, and in fact, as a result of his unique attitudes, this Latin crooner has enjoyed great mainstream success and critical acclaim worldwide for his efforts. Fonsi hails from Puerto Rico and was raised in Orlando, Florida where he showed an interest in show business even while he was still a young child. Initially, he joined a school vocal group that called themselves the Big Guys, including one future NSYNC star Joey Fatone. Afterwards, Fonsi studied singing at Florida State University and eventually scored a contract offer from Universal Latino. This was a big break for Fonsi, and soon after he signed with the label, he debuted with the album Comenzare in 1998. The record did exceptionally well on the charts, peaking at the number 27 spot and spawning hit singles that included ""Si Tu Quisieras,"" ""Perdonmae,"" ""Dime Come"" and ""Me Ire."" Fans were treated to the sultry sounds of Luis Fonsi and welcomed his sensual style with open arms and open ears. His follow-up album, Eterno, was released in 2000 and did even better than his first effort. It peaked at number six on the Top Latin Albums chart and also introduced several other hit singles.Fonsi hung onto his success over the following years, generating even more hits that included the great ballad ""Imaginame sin Ti."" Other albums were also well received, those included both Amor Secreto and Abrazar la Vida. As the 2000s wore on, he adapted a different sound and style, preferring to feature more of a prominent guitar sound, one that emerged on the album Paso a Paso. It was a wild success in the Latin music industry and is considered by many fans and critics to be his most popular and creative album to date."
