"Mando Diao's sound is virtually unmatched by any other band in the rock genre, and that is precisely how they want it to remain. Somehow this creative outfit managed to mix two unlikely genres together, that of garage rock and Britpop, and emerge with a sound many are describing as phenomenal. In addition, they also focus on other music genres, interspersing them throughout each record in order to keep listeners entertained. The group formed in Borlange, Sweden in 1995 when all of the band members were still in their teens, and they have not stopped rocking since then.Mando Diao, like most other garage rock bands, started out small, playing at local venues, mostly nightclubs and bars around their hometown. They rapidly gained a fan base, eliciting excitement in listeners and establishing themselves as one of the most promising up-and-coming bands of the time. Their music was described as both aggressive and refined, highlighting their ability to switch tempos and appeal to a wide-ranging group of people. Taking elements from pop, modern, soul, R&B and Britpop, the band emerged as a quirky, yet sophisticated group of singers that had the stark ability to command great attention among their followers. 2002 saw the release of their very first EP called Motown Blood. The release drew immediate praise and acclaim from fans around the world, who likened their musical style to that of other prominent bands like the Stokes and the Hives.Their full-length album appeared later that same year and was called Bring Em In. The record was mostly recorded in their basement and drew enormous attention for this seemingly little known ""basement band."" Their sophomore effort called Hurricane Bar was released in 2004, followed quickly by Ode to Ochrasy, and most recently their fourth studio effort made its grand entrance, this one called Never Seen the Light of Day. For a little known band from Sweden, Mando Diao certainly rose up through the ranks rather quickly."
