Manual Biography
Manual has put electronica music on the map and has even integrated the sounds of piano, bass and guitar to create a blend of underground beats and rhythms that have been applauded by both fans and music critics alike. Manual, whose real name is Jonas Munk, began playing music when he was just in his teens and offered up new sounds that were virtually unlike anything else in the music industry thus far. These days, he is seen as a renowned producer that continously works in the melding area of electronic music where house and pop music seem to coincide.Manual was always intent on creating music that was a far cry from ordinary, and he concentrated mostly on the elements of pop, glitch and indie music. For his efforts, fans have seen similarities with other well-known music artists on the scene today including My Bloody Valentine and Boards of Canada, although fans also confess that they regard Manual as someone unique and should also be considered to be in a category all his own. Some of Manual's inspirations have been Simple Minds, David Sylvian, U2 and Jimi Hendrix, among others. He debuted with a very well-appreciated record on the Hobby Industries label, and in 2001 his full length effort called Until Tomorrow was released to the public by Germany's Morr Music. Some of the best moments in Until Tomorrow come with an incredibly rare and unheard of simplicity. Many of his songs on this record have been compared to beautifully flowing poemsm and his endless expression of emotions is also evident. Three of the most well received songs from the record are Nova, Velvet Sunset and Lunate. Manual provided a great follow up album with Ascend, which spawned the radio hits Midnight Is Where the Day Begins and Astoria.
