"A Pastor's daughter, Martha Stallings was born in Lakeland, Florida, where she first began making music alongside her parents and two sisters (her older sister Marvelyne and her twin Mary.) The family traveled, delivering their brand of southern gospel, until they settled in Orlando to give the girls a regular public school existence. Martha and her sisters formed the group Testament when she was 16 and soon thereafter the young singer met her husband Dan Munizzi, a bassist and keyboardist with the group (they wed in 1987.) Dan introduced Martha to the black gospel music of Andraé Crouch and Fred Hammond that would greatly influence her work.In 1993 the couple was asked to direct music at the rapidly growing church FaithWorld in Orlando that has since grown to epic proportions (they have over 5,000 members with a music team nearly that big.) The Munizzis ended their tenure with FaithWorld in 2001 and Martha Munizzi Ministries was born; the church-oriented music ministry and independent record label is grounded in gospel music. The first live release, Say the Name, was nominated for a Grammy for Best Traditional Soul Gospel Album in 2006 (years after it release) but Martha's breakthrough came in 2003 with The Best is Yet to Come. The album was recorded live at Pastor Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church and spawned such contemporary gospel hits as ""Mighty God,"" ""Glorious"" and ""God Is Here.""In 2005 Martha was the first non-African American to win the Best New Artist category at the 2005 Stellar Awards and her 2006 album No Limits Live went straight to the top of Billboard's gospel charts. In 2008 Martha released Change the World and the talented singer continues to release gospel music that transcends cultural borders. The album, her fourth, snagged the number four spot on the Billboard gospel charts and proved that Martha is a force to be reckoned with in the gospel music scene."
