Electro-rock band Metro Station formed in true Hollywood fashion, through a series of good, old-fashioned industry connections. Today, the band is composed of Trace Cyrus (vocals, guitar), Mason Musso (vocals, guitar), Blake Healy (keyboards, synthesizer) and Anthony Improgo (percussions).Co-frontman Cyrus is the stepson of Billy Ray Cyrus and half brother to tween pop explosion Miley Cyrus. Cyrus met his other half in the band because Musso's younger brother plays Hannah Montana character Oliver Oken alongside Miley Cyrus' title character. The two finally succumbed to their mothers' insistence that the two musicians meet and soon after added keyboardist Healy to the group. The trio cut a single track together, the teen anthem "Seventeen Forever," which blew up on MySpace and attracted the attention of percussionist Improgo who soon joined the band. The band began to perform their brand of ‘80s-stlye electro-rock pop around Los Angeles and continued to post tracks on MySpace, where they quickly attracted fans and comparisons to Panic! at the Disco, who similarly rose to fame on MySpace. The goal of every MySpace band came true for Metro Station when an intern from label Red Ink heard the band. Metro Station signed with Red Ink in 2006, the same year they came together as a cohesive group, and journeyed to New York to record their first full-length album. Metro Station released their eponymous debut in September of 2007. The album featured single "Kelsey", which was produced by Josh Cain and Justin Pierre of Motion City Soundtrack, as well as a more polished version of the song that gained them online fame, "Seventeen Forever."
