N.O.R.E. Biography

"Rap music remains one of the most preferred music genres of today, especially among the younger generation. These days there are so many rap artists and bands on the scene that it is especially hard to keep track of them all. One particular artist, though, always stands out from the crowd. N.O.R.E. is one half of the Capone-N-Noreaga duo, which was comprised of Victor ""Noreaga"" Santiago and Kiam ""Capone"" Holley, two artists that saw a vision while both serving prison sentences in 1992. Noreaga went on to pursue a solo career under the moniker N.O.R.E. after Capone was thrown back in jail on a parole violation.Capone-N-Noreaga were singed to Penalty Records in 1996, and they released their hardcore rap debut the following year. The War Report signaled their distinctive rhythmic styles and veered away from the traditional hardcore rap that was constantly dominating radio stations. Capone headed back to jail, so Noreaga worked mostly on his own for the stellar debut, soliciting the help from other rap stars like Nas. After the completion of the album, he set about working on his solo debut, N.O.R.E., which turned out to be an all-star experience that included contributions from noted artists like Foxy Brown, Nas, Busta Ryhmes and Jay-Z.N.O.R.E. followed up his incredible solo entrance into the industry with Melvin Flynt--Da Hustler, which dropped in 1999 and then in mid 2002 his third album, called God's Favorite, started appearing in record stores. N.O.R.E. experimented with a different sound when he released N.O.R.E. y la Familia....Ya Tu Sabe, which turned out to have much more of a reggaeton flair and featured the likes of Nina Sky, Big Mato and Daddy Yankee. His most recent effort, Noreality ventures back into rap territory and was released in 2007."
