"If you stop staring at Paul Wall's diamond grill long enough to hear his music, you will notice that the Houston rapper is quick witted and has Southern rhymes to spare, though the white rapper from Jersey Village, TX is the unlikely spokesman for the Houston rap movement.Born Paul Slayton, MC and DY Paul Wall was a disciple of fellow Houston, TX native DJ Screw. Accustomed to DJ's slow-paced hip-hop, the white rapper Wall began getting his rhymes out there by DJing parties and releasing underground mixtapes. Soon Wall formed the Color Changing Click with Chamillionaire and the duo released Get Ya Mind Correct in 2002. Two years later, Wall issued a solo effort, Chick Magnet, when the Color Changing Click split and soon after scored a nationwide hit with a guest spot on Mike Jones' ""Still Tippin'."" Wall and Chamillionaire teamed up for 2005's Controversy Sells, which was released just a few months before his major label debut LP, The Peoples Champ, dropped. The album was a hip-hop hit thanks to ""Sittin' Sideways,"" which earned the number 24 spot on Billboard's Hot Rap Tracks chart, and ""Girl"" came in at number seven on Billboard's Hot Rap Tracks chart. In 2007 Wall released the follow-up to The People's Champ, Get Money, Stay True on the heels of the single ""Break Em' Off,"" which featured Lil' Keke. Not surprisingly, Wall has his very own line of diamond-laced grills that have added bling to such artists as T.I. and Lil Jon. He has been affiliated with Swisha House and Pail in Full throughout his career and has also collaborated with P. Diddy, Brooke Hogan, Bun B and Nelly."
