Randy Phillips,"; Shawn Craig and Dan Dean rocketed into recognition in the Christian music world in 1992 with their eponymous debut album, earning them recognition in the Christian Research Report as New Artist of the Year. Since then they have continued to win recognition for their signature harmony style and well-loved lyrics. In '93 they won CCM's Number One Song of the Year and on that year's CCR Readers Poll they were listed as Number Two Favorite Artist. They have also received several nominations for Dove Awards. In 1996 they won the award for Special Event Album of the Year for My Utmost for His Highest. Following that they were awarded CCM's Inspirational Song of the Decade (‘90s) for "Crucified with Christ." And in two consecutive years (2005 and 2006) they were chosen as Favorite Inspirational Artist, Reader's Choice Award by CCM Magazine. The group's 2001 album Let My Words Be Few has one of Christian music's well known songs, "Pour My Love on You" which speaks of the amazing love that a forgiven sinner has for his or her God. The song "Friend of God" from the album Let Worshippers Rise, released in 2004, is about the awe that is felt by someone that God has made himself known to. "You are God Alone" from the same album, contains lyrics that are driven by the inspiring nature of God. All three of these songs exemplify the excellent musical skill of Phillips, Craig and Dean. They are songs that can be heard all over America, both on the radio and in churches. "You are God Alone," is a special favorite of Christian churches in America and has even made its way overseas.
