Mexican Latin pop singer and actress Pilar Montenegro (born Mara del Pilar Montenegro Lpez) got involved in show business after she joined a popular tropical/dance-pop group called Garibaldi, produced by Luis de Llano. Later, taking advantage of her popularity, Pilar Montenegro began playing roles in Mexican soap operas, such as Gotita De Amor, Marisol, and Volver A Empezar.
