"Reppin' that green like he's part of Cash Money, Midwest rapper Ray Cash formulates the same type of music that is largely reminiscent of that one-time St. Louis rapper that had everybody obsessing over Air Force Ones. Cash brings in the type of Southern drawl and country slang that targets him to the Deep South, yet this hardcore rapper hails from none other than the cornstalked land of Cleveland, Ohio. Cash has scored big on the Billboard charts with both singles and albums through the years, and it seems as if the fresh artist has just now reached the apex of his shining career.Cash was born Wardell Raymond Cheeks on the east side of Cleveland in an area dubbed ""The Hill."" Careful not to step into the shadow of other Cleveland delight Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Cash strayed from the group's harmonious smooth R&B music, instead going after a hardcore rap style that would later suit the Dirty South. Growing up in a hip-hop dead zone, Cash started rapping for fun in his teen years, often showing off his incredible rapping talent by freestyling in his high school cafeteria to his classmates' banging on the tables. Cash's schoolyard antics quickly dissolved after seeing Jay-Z perform on his Hard Knock Life tour, and after that Cash took to the music industry as a professional.Working hard to put out a few demos, Ray Cash first emerged on the rap screen with the singles ""Sex Appeal (Pimp in My Rhyme)"" and ""Smokin' and Learnin'"" in 2005, only to be met with a lukewarm response. Persisting onward anyway, the rapper released his debut album Cash on Delivery in 2006. This time, Cash's music stuck, and cameos by artists Rockwilder and Rick Rock led to charting success and the anticipation for more to come."
