"It is hard to imagine already being a tried-and-true veteran of the pop music scene by early 30s, but that is exactly what Irish singer Ronan Keating is. He was born in 1977 as the youngest of four children and raised in Dublin. His parents worked hard to provide for their large family, a mentality that was passed down to Ronan. He had always been a good singer, and decided to try out for a new boy band forming in Ireland when he was 14 years old. He sand ""Father and Son"" by Cat Stephens and won himself a place on the roster for the new group Boyzone. With Boyzone, all Keating found was success. Each of their four albums debuted at number one on the British charts, along with 16 singles that reached the top three in Britain. They also sang background for U2 on the video of ""The Sweetest thing."" The success was welcome, but Keating wanted to do more with his musical talent. He poured himself into managing another Irish band, Westlife. He and Irish model Yvonne Connolly married in 1998. 1999 marked a big year for Keating as his first son, Jack, was born and he released his first solo single, ""When You Say Nothing At All,"" which went to number one on the UK charts. He released his debut solo album, Ronan, in 2000, which also climbed to number one in the UK. The album introduced a deeper side of Keating to fans and showed the star as a songwriter as well. He had another UK number one with the release of Destination in 2002, and he embarked on a worldwide tour to support the release. Keating followed the success by releasing Turn It On in 2003. He had a greatest hits album after the release, followed by Bring You Home in 2006. Along with his musical work, Keating has also been actively working with fair trade organizations to fight poverty."
