Days of teased hair and denim jackets certainly did not elude British pop star Samantha Fox in the '80s. Nor did she ever escape an image exploding with sex appeal or the naughty girl mentality that followed a stint as a topless model for Britain's Daily Sun newspaper, even after crossing over to the music industry years later. Either way, entertaining was Fox's main business. Her dance-pop sensations so heavily influenced by an era of hair-band rock remain in the imprint that '80s music left in everyone's hearts.British-born Fox rose to fame through a topless modeling career, but she had achieved success as a music artist by the time she was 20 years old. Fox's first single, "Touch Me (I Want Your Body)," mixed with sexuality and up-tempo beats, set the stage for her edginess and eroticism to take the reins in her career. Despite the dominance of sex appeal in her songs and speculation of being simply a pin-up girl, she produced many hits in the U.K. and the U.S.Fox's first album Touch Me, released in 1986, went gold, as did her 1988 album I Wanna Have Some Fun. Her 1987 album Samantha Fox contained the hit single "Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)," and the hits just seemed to keep coming. After 1988's I Wanna Have Some Fun, however, Fox's music career tumbled into a downward spiral that never fully recovered, despite releasing several other albums throughout the years. A five-year hiatus between 1992 and 1997 allowed Fox to give her image a facelift, and she re-emerged onto the music scene with her album 21st Century Fox as more of a cleaned-up figure. She has continued her musical career well into the 2000s and has also added acting to her many talents, making appearances in various television shows.
