With her sweet, gentle voice, Sara Bareilles jumped to the top of the charts, exhibiting a powerfully deep dedication to making lovely little songs. Her particular style has often been compared to the likes of Fiona Apple and Norah Jones, but Bareilles stands on her own, comfortable in her shoes. Throughout her time in college, Bareilles remained dedicated to writing poetry and observing life move on around her. After graduating, Bareilles started performing at open-microphone nights and subsequently moved on to local venues and music festivals where she steadily gained a fan following. In 2003, her first demo, called Careful Confessions, was produced and Bareilles realized that she was heading into the big time.Bareilles focused her energies on finding a record label to produce her fist full-length album, and she found a taker with Epic Records in April 2005. Bareilles spent the next couple years perfecting her sound and honing her skills in front of the microphone. It was decided that she would use many of the songs that originally appeared on Careful Confessions as well as add in several original tunes. The lyrical content of all of the ballads featured on her first full-length album dealt with relationships, insecurities and inner qualms. Little Voice was released in July 2007 and immediately became popular, drawing in a substantial fan base for the emerging singer. Some of the songs that are featured on her debut effort include "Love Song," "Between the Lines," "Morningside" and "Bottle It Up."
