Sara Evans

Sara Evans Biography

It seems that Sara Evans was practically born a country star. When she was four years old, Evans's mother discovered that her little daughter had a big voice. Along with her two brothers, Evans formed a family band and the little troupe of singing Evans' was raking in a substantial chunk of change. Years later, Evans found herself performing each Saturday night at a well-known club located near Columbia, Missouri. Little did she know at the time that her successes as a young girl and later, as a teenager would ultimately earn her star status alongside the great legends of country music.Evans first moved to Nashville in 1991 and collaborated with songwriter Harlan Howard who was impressed with her talent in front of the microphone, especially after catching an earful of her own rendition of his song, "I Got a Tiger by the Tail." Evans, though a newcomer to the music industry, had no qualms about recording and performing. In fact, she relished in her new role. In 1997, Evans stepped up and released her debut album, complete with that classic twangy sound and definitely good enough for any true country music aficionado. The album is called Three Chords and the Truth and although it struggled initially with the commercial audience, it received wide praise from critics who branded Evans as the next up-and-coming country music star.Next up was Evans's No Place That Far, which gave off a much more contemporary country tune and landed in the prestigious spot of number one on the charts. Her third album, Born to Fly, which was quick to follow, also reached number one on the charts. Sara Evans had reached the big time and there was no looking back. Her subsequent albums also generated more success for the singer, and in 2006, Evans won her first female vocalist award from the Academy of Country Music. For Sara Evans, her ascent to the top has not stopped, her albums and songs continue to always occupy spots in the top ten, so keep an eye out for any upcoming releases.
