"While their name suggests Christian roots, Saving Abel's sexually charged lyrics and electric rock sound emits anything but conventional religion. The Corinth, Mississippi group formed in 2004 by rival band members Jared Weeks and Jason Null, who heard each other play with their respective bands and found that their sounds and ideas were extremely similar. Within just a few shorts weeks, the duo was writing and recording together just in time to catch the attention of producer Skidd Mills, who asked the boys to come to Memphis to record a few singles in his 747 Studios. Initially, the pair had trouble juggling both full-time jobs and working with their group, but once the final group was secured in place thanks to Mills, which include guitarist Scott Bartlett, bassist Eric Taylor and drummer Blake Dixon, Saving Abel was on their way to the top.Driving back and forth between Corinth and Memphis, the group's influences, everything from bluegrass groups that Null listened to as a child, to Alice in Chains, Metallica and southern rock, inspired them to continue through their sleepless nights as they worked on their debut album. After months of throwing their EP on concert stages of major rock bands, the group finally got a hit with their ""Addicted"" EP when it reached Virgin A&R Consultant Scott Frazier and manager partner Rick Smith. The men sent off the single to the label's Chairman and CEO Jason Flom, who immediately signed the boys.Their major label, full-length debut appeared with mostly new material in March 2008. They are currently opening for Buckcherry and Avenged Sevenfold's co-headlined tour along with Shinedown."
