The Bravery

The Bravery Biography

The Bravery was started in New York in 2003, the group was actually the brain-child of Sam Endicott, the group's vocalist and guitarist. Endicott decided to start writing his own songs while wandering a beach on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. At the time he was jobbing as a bass player with various bands in the Big Apple and realized that there must be something more that he could do with his skills. The first time he stepped out on stage and started playing as the leader of the band, the crowds went wild.Along with his friend, keyboardist John Conway, Endicott formed the band. Bringing in drummer Anthony Bulrulcich, guitarist Michael Zakarin and bassist Mike H. Their first gig was the Stinger Club in Brooklyn in the middle of the summer, their post-punk dance rock had the crowd begging for more from the beginning. Before they knew it they were the hottest thing on the dance scene. They had their first residency at Arlene's Grocery, and the streets were full of noise about this exciting new band. Before they knew what was happening, they were being approached by US company Def Jam and Loog from the UK. They were the biggest new thing in music in both countries, and everyone was aching for their newest record. They released their eponymous first album in 2005, and toured with Ash at the same time. The Sun and the Moon came next in May of 2007, the boys from NYC were working their way up the music chain. Their albums did very well in The Billboard 200, both of them peaking within the top 25. Several of their songs have also done very well in the charts. Fans are looking forward to more installments from this hot New York band. Who knows what they will bring to the table next?
