The Chemical Brothers consist of two musicians that were both bent on making a wave in music. They first met while attending college in Manchester during the late 1980s. The music scene of that time in England focused on DJs. Both Ed Simons and Tom Rowlands tried their hand at DJing and soon found that they were not only good at it, but willing to be more adventurous than most. In 1992, the duo recorded a genre-blending track called "Song to the Siren." That song led to the Chemical Brothers getting signed to a label. They released an EP and started getting deeper into dance music.They found their way to Virgin and released their debut album, Exit Planet Dust, in 1995. By the time the duo released Dig Your Own Hole in 1997, they were already tried and true stars for their unique take on the dance genre. Dig Your Own Hole rocketed all the way to number 14 on the Billboard 200 chart. They followed it up with Brothers Gonna Work It Out in 1998 and Surrender in 1999. Both albums did well on the charts, charting at 95 and 32 on the Billboard 200, respectively.When they released Come With Us in 2002, they were one of the premier groups of the electronic dance genre. The album made it to number 32 on the Billboard 200 and all the way to number one on the Top Electronic Albums chart. Their 2005 release, Push the Button, also made it to the top of the Top Electronic Albums chart and went to number 59 on the Billboard 200. 2007's We Are the Night did almost as well, reaching number one on the Top Electronic Albums chart and number 65 on the Billboard 200.
