The duo appeared on several compilations and a split release with H.I.M. before issuing their debut full-length, It's All About, in 1998. The Dylan Group was a breath of fresh air in the ambient scene duo to their use of live instruments, chiefly the vibraphone and drums. In 1998 the Dylan Group released Re-Interpreted, a collection of remixes with the help of Nobukaza Takemure and Bundy K. Brown, among others. One year later the expanded Dylan Group, now a quartet with Scott McGovern and Tyler Pistilli, released More Adventures in Lying Down. In addition to a live track recorded at the Knitting Factory, the album features ambient gems like ""Spaghetti,"" ""The Pipes,"" and ""Stay (And We'll Make Sweet Music),"" which shows the polished product of the now complete band. Ur-Klang Search was issued in 2000 and the Dylan Group's third album was hailed as the former duo's definitive album, with intricate beats and original songwriting (""Ur-klang"" literally translates to ""original sound"" in German). The Dylan Group is known for their live improvisation which is captured in multi-track compilations and displayed on tour, such as their 2000 European tour with Mice Parade. Now a full band, the Dylan Group continues to deliver their relaxed brand of ambient music to fans worldwide."
