Tracy Lawrence was born in Atlanta, Texas, on January 27, 1968. He is one of the true cowboys of country music and took part in the commercial era of honky-tonk that spanned the ‘90s. Growing up, he found a release for all the pent up energy of youth in performing in front of live audiences, starting at the age of 15. He then went on to become a regular artist in the honky-tonk bars in his area when he was only 17 years old. Following his graduation from college, Tracy Lawrence moved to Nashville, Tennessee, the home of country music.Pasting together his 1981 Toyota Corolla, he set out on a road trip to his music destination. He went on to become one of the establishments of country music for the ‘90s, making his name known all throughout the country music industry as a musician with a good-old country sound and an edgy tone. Before he had a chance to release his debut album, he and a female friend of his were held up at gunpoint by some armed men. Tracy fought with them until his friend could get away, but suffered several gunshot wounds and required extensive physical therapy to recover.Thankfully he did recover from his injuries and went on to have a string of hit albums totaling 13, including his Then and Now - Hits Collection. His singles have also had an impressive standing in the charts, remaining a strong presence in country music since the ‘90s. His most recent album, For the Love, was released on January 30, 2007. Tracy Lawrence has been one of the most successful country music artists of our day and has created some of the most timeless country songs of the ‘90s.
