Trust Company

Trust Company Biography

The band members that make up the alternative metal band Trust Company are nothing if not original. With a sound featuring influence ranging from the Smashing Pumpkins to the Deftones, Trust Company refused from the beginning to play anything but their original work, not relying on covers to create a following. The band was made up of James Kukai on guitar, Kevin Palmer on vocals and guitar, Jason Singleton on drums and Walker Warren on bass when it became the most famous, but the role of bassist has changed a few times. Palmer and Singleton both grew up in Montgomery, Alabama. Palmer was interested in music from a young age and was a MTV junkie as a child. He formed his first band just in his teens. It was in one of his subsequent bands that Palmer first met Singleton. Singleton joined Palmer's band, but the two soon broke off to create Trust Company. It was originally a trio and stayed that way for three years until they added Kukai on guitar. They started playing around the area and slowly expanded to include most of the southeast and into the west. The hard work paid off when they got a deal with an independent label called Dcide Records. From there, they signed with the major label Geffen Records. It was on Geffen that they released their debut album in 2002 with The Lonely Position of Neutral. The album started gaining national attention and led to tours with such powerhouses as Korn and Papa Roach. After touring, the band started making their sophomore album. True Parallels dropped in 2005 and was just the album the band needed to rocket to stardom. They had a slew of hit singles from the release, which climbed to number 32 on the Billboard 200 chart. Later that year, Palmer left the band, which ultimately led to the band breaking up. The breakup didn't last long, however, as the band came back together in 2007.
