Watermark Biography

Working with your lifetime partner seems like a lot of work, but for CCM duo Watermark, their sound complements each other so naturally that they couldn't find a better way to connect their passion for each other and music than by performing together. Nathan and Christy Nockles, originally dubbed Watershed, came together in Houston, Texas in the late ‘90s leading worship for Metro Bible Study at Houston's First Baptist Church. Previously recording with longtime friends Charlie and Kimber Hall as Sons and Daughters, the group released a few albums before the Nockles started their Metro Bible Study. Finding an influential visitor in the audience one morning, the group headed over to Tennessee to start working with Rocketown. As Watermark was starting to put one foot in the right direction, Nathan began producing albums for other artists while their family expanded from two to five with the additions of Noah Luke, Elliana Noelle and Annie Rose. As the family started working their ministry, their tours led them to churches all across America. The duo has continued to work on almost every aspect of their music over the years, from writing, recording, producing, leading worship and everything in between as their music has touched the souls of their CCM followers.Once they signed with Rocketown, the group released their debut LP in the fall of 1998, which was eventually reissued on Epic records the next year. Later, All Things New arrived in 2000 followed by Constant in 2002. Their final studio album, The Purest Place, arrived in 2004 and earned them a GMA Music Awards nomination for Inspirational Album of the Year. Their last work with Rocketown came in their 2006 album A Grateful People.

"The CCM husband and wife duo Nathan and Christy Nockles have learned that balancing a family and stage life isn't all that difficult. Raising their three children while performing in churches and at conferences across the United States, this Christian duo has been able to create several successful albums together before they decided to call it quits after their 2006 album. Over the years the duo has learned to perfect their sound both leading Bible studies and performing on stage, sharing the stage with the likes of Point of Grace and Michael W. Smith, both of whom have helped his couple from Texas pursue their musical dreams. Throughout their career their music has inspired many, with their contemporary gospel choir sound that praises God.Currently available for ringtone download on PlayPhone's website are the singles ""Knees to the Earth"" and ""The Glory of Your Name,"" both from their 2004 album The Purest Place.
