Ying Yang Twins Biography
The Ying Yang Twins are the official brothers of crunk. The Atlanta duo comprised of Kaine and D-Roc are known for their rambunctious and often raunchy party songs that most always include their signature whistling and infectious beats. After teaming up with the self-proclaimed "King of Crunk" Lil Jon for "Salt Shaker" in 2003, the Ying Yang Twins officially became mainstays on the Southern rap party scene. In the spring of 2000 the Southern rap scene was introduced by the Ying Yang Twins with their single "Whistle While You Twurk," which was followed by the release of their debut album Thug Nation a few months later. The Ying Yang Twins kept the crunk coming with 2002's Alley...Return of the Ying Yang Twins and a third LP, Me and My Brother, dropped in 2003. Me and My Brother, their first album under label TVT, came loaded with the hits "What's Happnin!" and "Naggin'," which were added to the crunk cannon. The Ying Yang Twins were also featured in Britney Spears' album In the Zone (and the unfortunate TV special of the same name) in 2003 and TVT released a remix version of Me and My Brother that included a DVD of the duo's videos in 2004.The devilish duo's highly anticipated fourth album, U.S.A. (United State of Atlanta) was an immediate success with the smash single "Wait (The Whisper Song)" in the summer of 2005. "Wait (The Whisper Song)" was a sleazy party track that crowded the airwaves and became a club anthem despite (or maybe because of) its enormous amount of sexually explicit lyrics. The single achieved the number two spot on Billboard's Hot Rap Tracks chart and was followed by the Ying Yang Twins' fifth album, Chemically Imbalanced, in 2006.
