"Henry Bins and Sam Hardaker were studio assistants in their native London when they struck it big with their brand of trip-hop music as Zero 7, and although the occasional addition of soul vocalists like Sia Fuller, Sophie Barker and Mozez has allowed their music to cross over into the mainstream, fans of Zero 7 need not worry about the duo selling out any time soon. Before doing an actual production work, Henry Bins and Sam Hardaker were tea boys at a London recording studio, but the pair eventually became immersed in the behind-the-scenes, well, scene, and saw themselves working alongside big name artists like Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin and the Pet Shop Boys. Bins and Hardaker trudged along on the other side of the studio glass throughout the 1990s before lifting the name Zero 7 from a nightclub in Honduras and making music of their own. Zero 7 got the unsuspecting industry buzzing with their innovative remix of Radiohead's ""Climbing Up the Walls"" and Terry Callier's ""Love Theme from Spartacus"" as well as other prolific remixes. In 1999, Zero 7 issued their debut EP, the wryly-titled EP 1, but the modest pair only made a handful of copies and they sold out quickly, as did EP 2, which was similarly distributed. In mid-2001, Zero 7 released their hotly anticipated debut LP, Simple Things, and received immediate acclaim for the album's laid-back delivery of acid jazz, funk and soul music, which boasted collaborations with Sia Fuller, Sophie Barker and Mozez. In March 2004, Zero 7's sophomore album, When It Falls, made more waves in the trip-hop music pool and the pair continued with 2006's Garden, featuring Sia as well as Swedish singer José González. Garnering comparisons to the French electronic duo Air, Zero 7 continues to churn out chill-out music with a dose of spacey, retro sound."
