PlayPhone, Inc., a global leader in mobile social gaming, today announced its state-of-the-art PlayPhone Social Gaming Network (PSGN) experienced a 400 percent growth in the first six months of 2012, including a record 12 million game sessions and 3.5 million gameplay hours in the month of June alone. Based on PlayPhone’s reputation for consistently delivering against targets, the company now expects the PlayPhone Social Gaming Network to exceed 100 million registered users by the end of the year.
Network statistics across the board experienced a steep surge correlated to an increased level of developer support, now with more than 3,000 of the industry’s top creative studios signed on to publish games on smartphones and tablets through the PlayPhone Social Gaming Network. In addition to these achievements, PlayPhone hit another milestone with its first Top-20 title in the Google Play marketplace, Assaulter and Metal Slugs for Android developed by a third party developer partner.
“2012 has been a banner year for the PlayPhone Social Gaming Network to date, and we expect our growth to continue to accelerate during the back half of the year, reaching the number-one status in North America by year-end,” said Ron Czerny, founder and CEO, PlayPhone, Inc. “By strategically focusing our efforts on the North American market, where we expect approximately 60 percent of mobile commerce to commence, PlayPhone is well positioned to provide developers access to a large, increasingly engaged gaming community across all mobile devices.”
The PlayPhone Social Gaming Network is the ultimate destination for mobile gamers and provides developers access to millions of users regardless of their smartphone or tablet choice. It is the first true cross-platform social gaming network on the market today that gives developers a complete publishing solution and full control of their IP.
PlayPhone is committed to continuously adding value to its PlayPhone Social Gaming Network solution, and is preparing to launch the next generation of its ground-breaking SDK. SDK 2.0’s technology innovations include increased game marketing tools for developers and a revolutionary new UI. These game-changing features will join current best-in-class features like cross-platform virtual goods inventory management, cloud-based gamer progress tracking, and advanced community features, including synchronous multiplayer gaming, Facebook Open Graph and Single Sign-On. The PlayPhone Social Gaming Network supports all leading development platforms, including Android, iOS, HTML5, Adobe AIR, Unity, and Windows Phone 7.
