Shinya Akamine is an angel investor who has spent his career in high technology in Silicon Valley. Previously he was the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Postini, an e-mail security SaaS company acquired by Google. Shinya's current investments and board of director positions include AppRats, BlueSpark, CloudShare, Core Security, Unsubscribe.com and YOICS. Before starting his entrepreneurial career, Shinya was a consultant with McKinsey & Company and a post-doctoral fellow at NTT's Musashino Research Laboratory. Shinya is the inventor of eleven patents and was honored with an Outstanding Inventor award by Stanford University. He was also recognized by NTT with an award for the best research within NTT worldwide. Shinya received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. from Stanford University in Electrical Engineering and Solid State Physics.
